Just finished this acrylic painting a few weeks ago, titled "Bad Moves" (left). It's of course very symbolic, as usual. In many of the paintings I've been doing this year, I include references to my other paintings in them, since they all tend to be related about my personal experiences. "Not Just a Pretty Picture" (below) is an example, where it contains "Bad Moves" in progress.

This painting of 40” X 30” will be a commentary on a recent event.

I have always been fascinated with the Citroën 2CV, often called the deux chevaux. When I visited Paris, I was constantly trying to catch a view of one driving by and hopefully snapping a picture. I have wanted to paint one for a while.

Value studies, not finished pieces. I’m learning how to adjust value to change a composition. It sounded easy at first. When I asked myself “How can I do it differently?” it got harder. I printed four copies of my photo in black and white on copy paper, then glued it onto mixed media sketchbook paper, then just painted over it. I only wanted to look at value so I tried to make everything else the same. Which do you like best? How would you do it?
